Overview
Process is an integral part of the Creation. Introducing the innovative Google Original Designer Platform, which focuses on documenting the creative inspiration and process of works, ensuring the protection of original work copyrights, and fostering a community of creative originality.
Our project, in collaboration with Google, addresses the challenges presented by the current internet landscape, where closed ecosystems have overtaken the open web, making it complex to create and maintain traditional websites.
Concept
Design Process
During the course of a semester-long design process, we started form conduct academic research to identify the core focus and analyze the current state of professional content creators. Through methods like surveys, semi-structured interviews, and affinity diagrams, we ensured the persuasiveness and efficiency of our research findings. The group then ideated on potential solutions, analyzing different ideas using methods such as WSOT analysis and decision metrics to determine the initial concept. Lastly, we iterated on the product flow, from sketching and wireframing to creating a high-fidelity prototype, conducting testing and optimization, ultimately producing the final concept.
Problem
The challenges that professional content creators encounter in the current internet landscape include fragmented publishing platforms, fierce competition, industry imbalances, and the consequent lack of effective strategies for protecting original works.
Solution
By emphasizing the concept of "the process is also a work," our team has designed a website that aims to connect users with the story behind original creations. Our platform allows users to document and showcase their creative process, from inspiration to the final product, while providing digital copyright certification. We strive to provide a more comprehensive and organized approach to copyright protection, offering an improved way to present and preserve original works.
Concept
The final product showcases an autoplaying animation on the homepage as an introduction, providing users with an overview of the process through pop-up prompts upon entering the platform. Users can gradually upload their inspirations, work processes, and final creations, and by selecting the appropriate upload options, they can obtain a digital copyright that encompasses the entire creative journey. Linked works can reward creators with corresponding badges, which become part of their user profiles for display. Users can also explore other creators' works in the community, collecting them or using them as a source of inspiration.
User Experience
This design prioritizes a visually appealing and intuitive web interface, allowing users to efficiently upload and categorize various forms of inspiration, processes, and finished works. The implementation of a badge system encourages creators to document their original creation process, fostering a sense of achievement and recognition.
Value
Google brings value to content creators by safeguarding their high-quality original works, boosting their creative drive, sense of security, and efficiency in publishing.
